Nordic Walking

WHAT IS NORDIC WALKING?

A walking style that emulates cross-country skiing - the push off uses poles

  • A sturdy set of Nordic Walking poles is required. The poles have rubber tips for pavement/street use and metal tips for dirt

  • The poles need to be sized appropriately for your height.

  • It is advisable to have a training session on using them optimally before setting out on your own.

    • Contact Annika at http://www.axesspoles.com.au/ for further information. She provides good training and walking sessions with Human Fit.

    • We meet on Saturday mornings at 8am at Trigg Clarko Reserve.

  • This is a fully body exercise which can burn up to 40% more calories than without the poles! As it demands more from the back, chest and arm muscles

  • Good speeds & intense workouts can be achieved through the use of the poles.

Human Fit has an affiliation with Axess Poles. See their website for plenty more information on the wonderful world of NORDIC WALKING.
By adding a pair of especially made poles to your regular walk, (it’s an easy to learn technique), you’ll gain a TOTAL BODY WORKOUT.
